The era of transformation or orientation?

World is quickly changing through its own cycle and knowing your place especially in career world is really crucial and important.

Facing Globalization and digitization has made very important and challenging to find the proper career that fits to you, and finding the best position sometime is very difficult, stressful but on the other side very crucial decision to achieve success and professional improvement.
In the article "The Key to Choosing the Right Career" by Heidi Grant( published in Harvard Business review https://hbr.org/2013/04/the-key-to-choosing-the-right) it is explained by the author that choosing the career path or changing one, is for most of us a confusing and anxiety-riddled experience.

The rapid change in the work nature due to technology involved developments like Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence , etc. and also innovation, have increased the access to different level of knowledge and made the career paths more complex and difficult to be properly chosen.
Nowadays it is very important to find a way to "survive" to employees replacement by robots and machines, thus making ourselves a "precious asset" in the proper career field, will help to reach this main goal.
How can we find the proper career that fits to our goal of "market survival"?
First of all we need to know what type of job-seeker we are.
Heidi Grant in his above mentioned article made a very interesting division of the types of job-seekers and also the fields of interest they are excelling at, being:

  1. Promotion-focused people excel at:
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Seizing opportunities o get ahead
  • Embracing risk
  • Working quickly
  • Generating lots of options and alternatives
  • Abstract thinking

(Unfortunately, they are also more error-prone, overly-optimistic, and more likely to take risks that land them in hot water
      2. Prevention-focused people excel at:
  • Thoroughness and being detail-oriented
  • Analytical thinking and reasoning
  • Planning
  • Accuracy (working flawlessly)
  • Reliability
  • Anticipating problems
(Unfortunately, they are also wary of change or taking chances, rigid, and work more slowly. Diligence takes time.)
Do not follow only passion or inner feelings. Choosing the proper career path is much more than that. It requires lots of research and trainings and also access to lots of information on future career positions that fit with the type of personal orientation you have and also the skills you already have or are on the way to create.
Take care in being informed and updated in new skills and knowledge , to become an added value of an organization , a company or personal entrepreneurship 
Make a map/design of what you can offer with your knowledge and skills so far, what are your strengths and weaknesses with what you have so far. Make research on what are the best positions you can offer the best of you and make you motivated and willing to contribute and also understand properly what you want to improve in order to suit to the best sector you are interested in , being either an employee or a self-employeed.
Be smart to get the chances.

Book.6. FOLLOWERSHIP

In modern days many beggars lay on the streets and this has become a common and worrying occurrence .

Many people have lost their houses and/or jobs and now vagabonding on the streets trying to find ways to survive everyday.

They sit on the edges of streets ,parks or bridges asking for money even using their children to attract the attention of the walkers.
Many of these walkers pass without turning their heads to these beggars. They show a high level of indifference and they do not care about this phenomenon. In this group of people unfortunately sometimes I am a member.
We do not do anything to stop this phenomenon: either to contribute individually or to create the right connections with different organizations to help these people.
Being a bypasser is a damage not only for those people who suffer but also for the whole society that don't think about them.

An important paragraph is written in different sacred books: "Do to others as you would have them do to you".

Book.5 The Power of Positive Deviance

We need solution in every area of our lives and business either we owe everything or we have nothing.
It is necessary for us to know how from the difficulties to become stronger and more famous or popular than others.
In every field of life or work we face difficulties. These difficulties are closely related to solutions needed to be found for different situations and issues.
In fact the concept of "positive deviance" is nothing more or nothing less than Being the best among the others despite the lack of opportunities.

Being in the group of people that knows how to benefit and to be better than the others in these kind of situations means in simple words: "to be the Positive deviants".

Watching the news on TV I heard about the fact that in public schools one of the main problems is the usage of knifes or other kinds of weapons. These objects often brings out bloody quarrels and increase the fear among pupils. As parents need to find very secure places for their children they also think about choices for the schools they want their children to study and also to be safe.

As they do not have enough money to send them in private schools ,where the security is in higher levels (example of positive deviance) they try to find other public schools that have higher levels of security and also level of education (another example of positive deviances).

Being the Positive Devinat often is not  easy. You have to go through some difficulties to find the best solution and to achieve to be the best. It is a kind of competitive advantage that the business needs to find in order to survive or expand even in eras of crisis.

BOOK.4. GROUNDSWELL,Winning in a world transformed by social technologies

Every single minute that we live we use technology or technology uses us in a way or another.
We use technology to talk on skype,on the messenger,to write different e-mails,to make bookings or purchases online, to read interesting information,or to finish the ideas in the blogs posted for studies,etc.
When we use these resources we become either the customers or the members , as explained during the class hours, of the sites we browse.

Technology used for information or entertainment is very developed and is related to many fields of activities,so I am trying to explain the meaning of Groundswell using the example of websites used for booking purposes(hotels,flights,etc.)

i.e. When we navigate through booking.com, to find the appropriate hotels to be accommodated during visits to different countries, we use to check not only prices,location or the pictures and services offered,but also the reviews written by the customers that have visit the hotels we are interested in.
Perhaps not in a conscious way the visitors of these places play 2 different key roles as following:

1. These customers with their comments behave like they are the employees of the hotel (when the comments are positive) and make a very good advertising of the places (hotels,apartments,etc) where they have stayed.
2. Even if in the first classification the customers played the role of the employee, at the end they remain customers and if they give negative opinions and comments they influence the image of those activities for which they are the strongest concerns.

What a mess! The customer is the employee or the customer is the customer when they use websites???
My opinion is that a customer through technology especially for internet usage are BOTH EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS OF THE WEBSITES THEY SEARCH.

The most important thing is TO REMEMBER TO BE HONEST AND USE THE INFORMATION IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE.

BOOK.3. Click, The Magic Instant Connection

The dream of every person is to be successful in his/her life.Someone wants success in the job experience, someone else in love. As people are very special creatures they can't choose what kind of success is better than what. We are a little bit envious and we want them both.
AT WORK:
When we go to work early in different companies we want to be noticed by our supervisors and convince them that we are the best. What we do???? Hmmmm...interesting question :)).
According to me in  general employees are divided into four groups:
1) those who always complains ,having the others attention only due to their sad stories or stories that shows the past difficulties.;
2) those who have energy and know how to behave and what to say in every situation and/or place; they can adapt everywhere;they know very well how their colleagues or supervisors  understand things and how they want the job to be made  and use this issue in their favor;
3)those who just work as machinery and do not know anything else .Those people are like ghost,nobody notice them in the companies.
4)those well located,which means those who have their offices very close to the higher management and have possibility to be noticed even just for a greeting by them.
The most successful categories are the second one and the forth one that click on the supervisors having much opportunities to develop the career. The first group is the second in ranking of success,but the third group are those that may be called "the losers".

 IN LOVE:
Nevertheless work is important ,love is very crucial in humans lives. As the song says:"...All u need is love..." sometimes this become a motto for each of us. Some use their friendships to create relationships some others go in pubs and bars trying to find somebody to notice them in the smoky air and loud music.The are some others  that meet accidentally in restaurasnts,shops,offices,cinemas,etc that just get the click on each other without any intervention or help. They are the help of themselves. It is needed only  a sight,a touched hand or the smell of the parfume to make two people attract the atention of each other.

What do you want?
A Successful work life?
A succesfull love?
Both???

I am choosing the third choice to complete my happiness! ;-)

BOOK.2. THE FLIGHT OF CREATIVE CLASS

Even if Albania is a small country that didn’t appear in the graphics, figures or maps showed in the lesson of yesterday evening, is important to emphasize the fact that if we evaluate it internally (which means comparing different cities of Albania with each other) we may notice some clear examples of creative classes.

1-     Population is mainly located in flat landscape regions due to facilities in providing the necessary goods and services needed.
2-     Business concentration (“Light emissions”): Main cities where the development of business activity is higher are: (1st group) Tirana, Durres, Fier, Vlora, Elbasan; (2nd group) Shkodra, Lezha, Korca, Gjirokastra, Saranda; in these cities the companies have more chances to improve innovations offered for the masses.
3-     Educational possibilities (“Scientific citations”): have a concentration in the cities such as Tirana, Durres, Elbasan, Shkodra, Gjirokastra, Vlora, Kukes. Students from different regions and areas go to these cities to develop their educational background not only studying but now even researching (however the researches level is very low as it is a new thing strated to be used recently) helping in this way the possibilities to find better job positions.
4-     “Patents”: there is a number of manufacturing/service activities that are creating kind of patents for their products; i.e. we may mention the shoes factories producing products with the logo Made in Albania.

Albania is open to accept foreign creative innovative people (very good example are telecommunication companies, banks, or other foreign companies opperating in Albania leaded or managed by foreign staff together with albanian staff. 

Book No.1. SWITCH

Everyday people wake up and start their lives; some working and struggling to be successful, some others trying to survive. In every moment people want everything and want it to be done “perfectly” even if the perfection is impossible to be achieved.
Everyday in the offices there are different faces watching each other. Some are supervisors and others are supervised.
Everyday the supervisors want more work done correctly and everyday supervised employees are not satisfied and motivated. The employees want work paid properly and also get satisfaction (according their expectations) meanwhile the employers want the achievement of the targets.
How must it be made avoiding discouraging and increasing the positive adrenaline in the veins of the employees?
Delegating all the time?
Mentioning only numbers and figures?
Giving more work to them?
Force the employees to make their work?
NO; none of the aforementioned ways is not the right. The company must find the way to make its employees feel part of it. They must understand the importance in achieving the company’s goals through achieving their own personal goals.
If a football player wants his team to win ,he first will try to accomplish his expectations to be the best or one of the best players of the championship; only through this the match may be winning and the team may succeed.
